Watch: ‘The Rum Diary’ Official Trailer

In theaters October 28th, 2011.

Based on the debut novel by Hunter S. Thompson, “The Rum Diary” tells the increasingly unhinged story of itinerant journalist Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp). Tiring of the noise and madness of New York and the crushing conventions of late Eisenhower-era America, Kemp travels to the pristine island of Puerto Rico to write for a local newspaper run by downtrodden editor Lotterman (Richard Jenkins). Adopting the rum-soaked life of the island, Paul soon becomes obsessed with Chenault (Amber Heard), the wildly attractive fiancée of Sanderson (Aaron Eckhart). Sanderson, a businessman involved in shady property development deals, is one of a growing number of American entrepreneurs who are determined to convert Puerto Rico into a capitalist paradise in service of the wealthy. When Kemp is recruited by Sanderson to write favorably about his latest scheme, the journalist is presented with a choice: to use his words for the corrupt businessmen’s financial benefit, or use them to take the bastards down.

‘Ghostbusters 3′ Filming In 2012

‘Ghostbusters 3′ Filming In 2012

Dan Aykroyd appeared on The Dennis Miller Show to discuss ‘Ghostbusters 3′ and dropped specific details about the project on Thursday. He hinted that the plan is to film in Spring of 2012 no matter what happens casting-wise and with or without Bill Murray’s involvement.

“We have an excellent script. What we have to remember is that ‘Ghostbusters’ is bigger than any one component, although Billy was absolutely the lead and contributive to it in a massive way, as was the director and Harold [Ramis], myself and Sigourney [Weaver]. The concept is much larger than any individual role and the promise of ‘Ghostbusters 3′ is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood.”

No decision has been made for who might be cast as the new characters, but Aykroyd stated that he did have some prospective casting in mind.

Anne Hathaway As Selina Kyle

After less official photos leaked from the set in Pittsburgh yesterday, Warner Bros. made sure that a better, official picture of Anne Hathaway’s character turned up unannounced on the official website TheDarkKnightRises.com.

The site refers to her as ‘Selina Kyle’ rather than ‘Catwoman.’ Like Harvey ‘Two-Face,’ Christopher Nolan may be going for a more realistic approach with this character.
